By no means is this confirmed at the moment but it is rumoured that the pilot of Game of Thrones presently being filmed will cover the story up to page 85 (in my edition) of the book.

Now in a 800 page book that leaves plenty of space for  a 10 to 14 episode series, that as far as im concerned is a very nice pace, and a serious treatment very few books have received.

For those of you familiar with the story the pilot will finish at the point where Bran starts to fall. I hope that hasn’t given to much away for those of you just starting out or yet to read the books.
