Well the overnight figures are in for Episode 3 (What is dead may never die) and despite the quality of the show being the same as always the viewing figures slip to a series low of 398,000 – which is down from a peak of 522,000 viwers who tuned in to watch the series opener. But realistically its safe to assume that Game of Thrones is attracting many more viewers than this. Lets face it, its only available on Sky Atlantic. A Sky exclusive channel, which means that every single viewer has the ability to record the show and watch it later in the week.
Given that it is unlikely that this show will be moving to freeview any time soon, the best bet we can hope for in terms of a boost to viewing figures will be when Sky Atlantic finally becomes available to Virgin viewers. However we need not be too concerned, the quality of the show is as strong as always and as mentioned last week HBO have definitely ordered series 3, which means we’ve got good deal more sex, violence and devious manipulation to come before this show goes anywhere.
